COMMENTS: Eastern Kentucky (FCS) landed a solid kicker very late in the recruiting process with this graduate transfer out of Baldwin Wallace. Big-time FG & kickoff leg. Another great story of patience and persistence. At our Atlanta Fab 50 Camp (April 2015), Ben’s best kickoff charted 4.16/75 yards but was able to hit a 4.0/69 yard kickoff with a brand new ball. All 7 kickoffs charted from 3.9-4.2 hang time. He also dominated the FG competition, crushing a competitive field by making 9 consecutive FG’s (30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 55, 56, 60)

TIMELINE:

2011-2014: Ben plays 74 games with the Baldwin Wallace soccer team, scoring 20 goals & 6 assists.

4/4/15: Ben decides to pursue college football for his 5th season. Looking for help with technique & exposure, Ben attends our Atlanta Fab 50 Camp. He showed raw technique but Division 1 potential. He earns a spot in our Fab 50 National Rankings.

Summer 2015: Ben & Coach Kornblue communicate regularly regarding potential opportunities and work together to find the right fit for Ben’s situation. Several Big Ten schools show high interest.

7/23/15: EKU’s starting kicker suffers an injury. An assistant coach texted Kornblue asking for help. He wrote: “Just thought I would check with you to see if by some miracle there is still a big-time kicker available out there. I know it’s a longshot but who better to check with than you.” Kornblue immediately checked in with Ben to gauge his interest. Within minutes, they were communicating about a possible scholarship.

8/14/15: The admissions office at EKU gives final approval for Ben’s application to a graduate school program. Ben heads to Richmond, Kentucky to join his new team for training camp & is officially a Colonel!
