There are as many different effective strength programs as there are styles of kicking cleats to choose from. No matter what program you use, you’ll want to focus on the following:
- Explosive movements (quick twitch)
- Plyometrics
- NOT as important to train for endurance (i.e. long distance running)
- Full body training (train like an athlete)
- Core (abs/lower back)
- Improve stretching AND balance (yoga/pilates)
- Train hard! (you should be exhausted after a workout…if not, you’re cheating yourself)
